Who we are
This website is operated by Kjetil Furås. Its address is https://kjetilfuras.com. For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact [email protected].
This site is a personal blog. It has no user accounts, no comment section, and does not let visitors upload media.
What data we collect and why
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type). IP addresses are anonymized. This helps us improve the content. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Advertising measurement. We use the Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of any advertising and to understand how visitors arrive at the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Newsletter. If — and only if — you sign up for the newsletter, we collect your first name and email address to send you updates. This is handled by ConvertKit (Kit). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Legal basis: consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
Server logs. Our hosting provider processes standard technical request data (such as IP address and timestamp) to deliver and secure the site.
Cookies
Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel set cookies to distinguish visitors and measure usage. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Third-party services
Some data is processed by third parties that act as our processors or independent controllers:
- Google Analytics — Google Privacy Policy
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — Meta Privacy Policy
- ConvertKit (Kit) — newsletter — Kit Privacy Policy
How long we retain your data
Analytics and advertising data is retained according to the providers' standard retention periods. Newsletter data is retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase the personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to legal requirements. The "last updated" date above shows when it was most recently revised.
